OUR STORY STARTS AROUND THE DINNER TABLE

We’re the mother-daughter duo of The Pasta Shoppe in Thunder Bay, ON, Canada.
We believe that pasta dinners should be fresh, easy and enjoyed more frequently than the occasional Sunday. It should bring you around the table on a weekday and start a conversation before you rush off dance/hockey practice or after a long day away from home.

IT ALL STARTED WITH TAGLIATELLE

When we started our business in 2015, the pasta dough was made daily using our family recipe. Soft & silky. It was rolled through a hand crank pasta machine that was clamped onto the kitchen counter. One side of the machine slowly thins the dough to the perfect sheet consistency. The other cuts it into flat wide ribbons, a shape called Tagliatelle.

THIS IS NOW

Today, we use an industrial extruder. We source Canadian grown durum semolina and use bronze dies to produce only the freshest pasta everyday, just for you. The heart of homemade pasta is something we put forth in everything we do. In fact, we keep a few hand crank pasta machines around the shoppe just to remind us of the tradition, family values and strong women that taught us what we know.

From our dinner table to yours – we hope to inspire you to do the same.
